Archaeological site of Pisac
This archaeological site is located in the province of Calca, 30 kilometers from the city of Cusco. It is one of the most important and visited sites of the Sacred Valley.
Pisac is divided into two areas, the old one, located in the upper part and the current one, located towards the valley that dates from the colonial era.
Salt flats of Maras
The salt flats of Maras is one of the most famous places to visit in the Sacred Valley. It consists of thousands of small pools excavated on the mountainside that contain natural salt.
The pools are fed by a hypersaline underground spring originating 110 years ago. Today, the people of Maras, market salt, just as it was done in the Inca era.
Archaeological remains of Moray
The archaeological remains of Moray are 7 km from Maras and 38 km from Cusco. It is characterized for being formed by several circular platforms.
In the Inca period it was the place par excellence for agriculture, because, due to its construction, it possessed several microclimates. Today you can continue to differentiate the temperature at different heights.
Chinchero
This village, located in the Sacred Valley, is famous for its textile centers, where you can see women dressed in their beautiful costumes perform the process of spinning and dyeing wool with natural dyes, just as their ancestors did.
In this place you can still feel and see the Inca culture as it was in past times. It brings together twelve indigenous Andean communities struggling to maintain their ancient tradition.
Chinchero also known as the "rainbow village", because in rainy season, (January, February and March), it is possible to observe this natural phenomenon easily.
